Expertise and Flexibility
We are a Centre for Early Development through Learning and Play, founded by psychologists and parents. Our programme includes educational, developmental, practical, creative and fun activities that stimulate the development of cognitive and motor skills, emotional literacy, social capacities, attention and healthy habits in children. We do not blindly follow a single approach, because every child and every moment carries its own identity and requires flexibility, reflection and adaptation — which is why we combine various methods and knowledge, all while following the dynamics and needs of the group.
Structure and Respect
We believe in the power and necessity of structure, rules and consistency, which provide children with a sense of stability, security and trust. We view the child as an equally valuable human being, with the right to opinions, needs and decisions.
Outdoor play
We prioritize outdoor play, where children freely play with natural materials and get dirty while playing without fear and unnecessary restrictions. Long stays outdoors in our own safe yard are part of our daily schedule. We follow the philosophy that there is no bad weather, only inadequate clothing. We allow children to play with soil, get dirty in grass or sand, play with water, and pet our domestic 'aviljanerke' cats.
Independence
We encourage independence in children, because it is our responsibility to help them develop life skills and abilities and create opportunities and space in which they will discover and develop their own capacities and possibilities, and slowly grow into capable, independent, confident and secure small and adult people.
Rest and imagination
At Cool4Scool, children don't have to sleep, but they rest and if they need to sleep, they do. Simply 'we sleep if we feel like sleeping'. We have designed a special activity intended for rest and 'restart' of small children's nervous systems through reading books, imagination and guided fantasies with gentle ambient music. After imagination time, children continue with daily activities, while those who fell asleep stay sleeping as long as they need.
Screen free
We believe that spontaneous play, social interaction and work with concrete materials are the most appropriate stimulation for children of this age. For this reason, the use of digital devices is limited exclusively to pre-planned educational activities where there is a clear developmental and pedagogical purpose. The exception is Friday — our 'relaxed day' — when we watch together one carefully selected animated film or other suitable synchronised content.
Activity Programme
Special activities that enrich children's development
Music workshops
The music workshops are led by music educator and prof. Marija Ivančević-Stipić (author of the preschool music programme at BASICS school and owner of "OD Muzički vrt"). Through play, song, movement and creative tasks, children develop a sense of rhythm and intonation, vocal and rhythmic abilities, as well as attention, concentration and group cooperation. Activities are adapted to the natural pace of children and encourage curiosity, independent exploration of music and the joy of expression.
English language workshops
English language workshops are conducted inspired by Cambridge methodology, where through play and creative activities children become acquainted with the basics of English in a spontaneous, unobtrusive and fun way. This programme especially supports early language development, precisely during the period when children most easily and quickly acquire new languages.
Developmental workshops with a psychologist
Developmental workshops with a psychologist are conducted in cooperation with the Care4Me psychological counselling centre, led by a Master of Psychology. Through these workshops, children learn to think critically, recognise and understand emotions, develop emotional literacy, and become familiar with the concepts of personal boundaries, needs, communication and mutual respect.
Cooking workshops
Cooking workshops – under adult guidance, children prepare simple dishes, developing motor skills, concentration, a sense of responsibility and cooperation. Through hands-on activities they gain new experiences that contribute to their sense of independence and confidence.
Literary workshops
Literary workshops – led by a teacher of Bosnian language and literature, children enjoy stories and books adapted to their age, develop imagination and critical thinking, and through basic writing exercises gradually develop graphomotor skills and attention. Through these activities children develop a love of books and reading, enrich their vocabulary and improve their culture of expression.
Free play
Free play holds an important place in the organisation of our daily activities. Children are given a so-called "empty space" — time without pre-defined tasks in which they independently create play, explore, cooperate and develop their imagination. Through such activities children naturally develop creativity, initiative, the ability to negotiate, resolve conflicts and organise play with peers.

A programme with a longer daily stay at the centre, during which children participate in all planned workshops and activities throughout the day.
Mini
A programme with a shorter daily stay at the centre, which includes participation in a part of the planned workshops and activities, with a flexible usage period.
